Last October, in response to the devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck the Davao Region, RMN Foundation, together with DXDC Davao and IFM Davao, and in partnership with Metrobank Foundation, mobilized its Oplan Tabang initiative to provide timely assistance to affected families in Davao Oriental.
Through the joint relief operation, more than 2,000 families received essential aid in the Municipality of Manay, particularly in Barangays Rizal and Central, and in the Municipality of Caraga covering Barangays Santa Fe, Santiago, Palma Gil, and Manurigao. The distribution included trapals (tents) and banigs (sleeping mats), helping address the immediate needs of families who lost their homes and livelihoods following the powerful tremor.
Additional support was provided through RMN stations DXBC Butuan and DXPR Pagadian, which helped the team in its operations. In collaboration with RMN Foundation, Robinsons Pagadian, Aboitiz Power, and Borja Water Refilling Station also provided food packs and water, further strengthening assistance for earthquake affected communities.
The partnership among RMN Foundation, Metrobank Foundation, and its local partners underscores their shared commitment to uphold the spirit of bayanihan and collective social responsibility, bringing comfort and tangible relief to those in urgent need.
